The Freelance Technical Writer creates instructions and support materials for medical products in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities / Skills

• Intuitive problem solver–strong ability to figure out ‘how it works’ and communicate efficiently and effectively.
• Create easy-to-understand product instructions, quick start guides, and support materials for various health and wellness products.
• Ensure adherence to appropriate regulatory guidelines and requirements with the support of the in-house regulatory department.
• Ability to design instructions using Mac-based page design layout software.
• Work with a graphic designer to develop necessary graphics for manuals.
• Rework instructions to correct errors and update them with required regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• BA or BS in English, communications or a related field
• Minimum professional requirements: 3+ years in a similar role
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite with specific experience in InDesign
• Creative copywriting experience is a plus
